Best of Both Worlds
288 Riverview Road, Rexford, NY 12148
Q & A with Listing Agent Valerie Thompson
What are the home’s most valuable features for prospective buyers?
I believe the most valuable feature is the opportunity to live in a tastefully designed newer home on 2.72 acres in the historic Vischer Ferry community while still being close to all the modern conveniences you could need. The home is a Greek Revival farmhouse which blends perfectly with the older homes surrounding it.
How would you describe the home’s style/floor plan?
The home has traditional touches with an open floor plan in the main living area. Kitchen with breakfast bar flows easily to the family room which boasts a beautiful bank of windows allowing for loads of natural light and views to the rear yard. Entering from the generous wrap around porch you will find a generous sized mud room with slate flooring and a half bath. Three bedrooms and two full tile baths are on the second level.
Are there any unusual amenities?
There are a few amenities that make this property special. One is that there is no carpet in this house. Flooring is all Brazilian cherry or hickory – just beautiful. The baths have tile flooring. Secondly there is a pond in the rear of the property owned by this homeowner and two others. Lastly, the garage has fantastic finished space on the second level; perfect for guest, a private office or a teenager’s den.
What’s your favorite thing about the property?
That is a tough question because I just love many things about this property. I would have to say the overall design of the home. My own home was built in 1840 so I have an affinity for historic homes or representations of the same. 288 Riverview Road is a perfect example of a home planned with care to fit into its community while offering all the modern conveniences that we prefer today.
