The American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure

Do you know that TODAY Diabetes will claim 200 Lives and 200 limbs? Almost 30 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes; 86 million have pre-diabetes. Do you know one of them? Are you one of them?
The American Diabetes Association (ADA) was established in 1940 and is working to prevent and cure diabetes and support the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
The Tour de Cure is the American Diabetes Association’s signature fundraising cycling event, with 90 Tours nationwide, this event raises over $26 million. The Saratoga Tour de Cure is the #2 Tour in the country, which in 2014 had 2,500 riders and raised $1.3 million!
It is with great pride that I sign up for my third Tour de Cure, this year riding with Team Roohan Realty. The Saratoga Tour is one of the most well organized, fun and extremely successful fundraising events that I have ever been involved in, and I’ve been involved in many events.
The Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. You can ride, 10, 28, 50, 62.5, or 100 miles outside or if you don’t have a bike, you can grab a Spin bike and ride indoors, in the gym! You will travel a route supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel the journey and fans to cheer you on!
