Making Recycling Simple for Saratoga Residents
Looking for a responsible way to clear out unwanted items? Saratoga Recycles Day 2025 makes it easy. On Saturday, October 18, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, head to the SPAC parking lot (west side of Route 50) to drop off electronics, books, bikes, clothing, textiles, and more. A $5 per-car fee applies, plus $20 for each TV.
Organized by Sustainable Saratoga, this annual event helps keep reusable and recyclable items out of landfills while supporting local nonprofits like the Saratoga Lions Club, Wellspring, and the Children’s Literacy League.
What You Can Bring
Accepted items include:
- Electronics & appliances (TVs, computers, microwaves, small fridges)
- Books, DVDs, puzzles (all ages, no holiday/religious)
- Clothing & textiles (clothes, coats, shoes, towels, bedding)
- Bikes (adult, mountain, 20” & 24”)
- Eyeglasses, hearing aids, musical instruments
Not accepted: paint, rugs, pillows, carpeting, smoke detectors, batteries, and fluorescent bulbs.
Tips for Participants
- Sort by station ahead of time — grouping your items by drop-off category helps things go faster
- Bring exact change or a check (for the vehicle fee and any TVs)
- Arrive early to avoid traffic delays
- Stay in your car — volunteers will unload your items
- If uncertain about an item’s eligibility, check ahead or bring it anyway — you may be directed to alternative disposal options
