History of 795 Broadway – Built in 1886, Red Stone Villa is another legacy designed by S. Gifford Slocum (see more about Slocum). The original owner was Eli Clinton Clark who was in the lumber business and owned the Clark Mills in Washington County. Decorative terracotta tiles reflect the influence of Henry Hobson Richardson as also seen in the Algonquin Building.

The property is adjacent to the former Woodlawn Park, now Skidmore College. Meticulously renovated 7,050 square feet of living space has a total of 14 rooms: 8 bedrooms, 8 full baths, and 4 half baths. Nine fireplaces, beautiful stained glass windows, window seats, handsome woodwork and moldings, wine cellar and wraparound porch all boast the Gilded Age of Saratoga Springs.

Gourmet kitchen, elevator, central air, sprinkler system and all updated mechanical systems bring this magnificent home into the 21st century.

The property was sold in 2011 for $1,980,500.
