Team RCRA Heavy Pedals Pushes Through NYC, Their Fundraising Goal
While some of us relaxed and took in the beautiful fall foliage this Sunday, Tom Roohan was down in NYC cycling around of the island of Manhattan in support of Bike MS – an annual event hosted by the National MS Society to raise funds for multiple sclerosis research and to assist those living with the disease. The annual bike tour attracts nearly five thousand participants and starts/ends on the West Side Highway.

Tom and the other members of Team RCRA Heavy Pedals, did more than “just” bike 30 miles on a blustery New York day, they also exceeded their fundraising goal of $3,000 by over 114%, contributing that much more to the event’s overall $3 Million Dollar goal. “It’s a group effort that transcends personal accomplishment and touches the lives of the thousands of people affected by MS in our community,” they state on their team page.
Whether our community is the city we live in or the causes we’re passionate about, we’re committed to giving back wherever it’s needed…even if it means dodging crazy city taxis and anaerobic exercise :)
