Meet the Crew Monday:

Favorite local eats?
This is such a hard question! I love going out for breakfast at Sweet Mimi’s. The Maple Bacon pancakes are a treat, but my absolute favorite there are the Roman Eggs. Perfectly cooked over easy eggs served with roasted asparagus, tomatoes and crispy prosciutto! For comfort food I love the french onion soup at the Olde Bryan Inn and for a nice summer evening you can’t beat the patio at Saratoga National.
In the Fall I crave apple cider donuts from Smith’s Orchards–my family went on a cider donut taste testing one year, and these were by far the best we’ve ever had!
(Hint: see more cozy fall dining spots in the fireside dining section of our fall/winter activity map)
Fun fact about yourself?
I was on HGTV! Several years ago our friends invited me to be part of their “Adult Prom” that was filmed for the series Dina’s Parties (the former NJ “housewife” had a short lived series where she planned and organized parties).
A more recent fun fact is that my friend Kelley Marsh, owner of the Saratoga Day Spa asked me to be her “model” for her website and Facebook pictures. It was a fun photo shoot and I got to enjoy some pampering!
Your insider tip to Saratoga?
Become a member of SPAC! We are so lucky to have this beautiful performing arts center in our backyard. Last summer I went to several concerts, 5 New York City Ballet performances and 2 New York City Ballet rehearsals. Membership gets you priority ticket sales, entry into classical programing rehearsals, and depending on your membership level you can get close parking and entry into the patrons bar area.
Favorite vacation spot?
Hands down it’s Cape Cod. I have been to many east coast beaches and have yet to find a place I love as much as the Cape! One of these days I want to visit California and drive the Pacific Coast Highway from LA to San Francisco, but for now, the Cape Cod National Seashore has my heart!
Favorite thing about fall in Saratoga?
Thanksgiving – we host every year. I love the way my house smells when the turkey and fixings are cooking, and I always bake three pies from my grandmother’s recipe: a traditional pumpkin, a pumpkin crumble and an apple crumble. Looking forward to all the leftovers!
Most interesting/surprising job you’ve had (besides real estate)?
While not technically a job, I have been on the Board of Directors of Saratoga City Ballet for the past four years. SCB is a nonprofit, board run dance school and performance company. Ten years ago I didn’t know anything about ballet and never thought I would be helping to run a ballet studio, but when you have a daughter whose passion is to dance, your own interests change! I’m very proud to be a part of the small group of dedicated parents who rallied together to save SCB when it almost closed. The SCB is currently getting ready for it’s 23rd annual Nutcracker show, info and tickets can be found by visiting Saratoga City Ballet’s Facebook page
What is your dream house must-have?
Outdoor living areas! My family loves being outside–especially our dog Maya. It’s a sad day for us when we have to pack away the patio furniture for the winter.
