Meet the Crew Monday:
Gerard Wise, Commercial Services Team
Favorite local eats?
You can usually find me at The Local on Beekman Street pouring hot sauce on top of the Bubble & Squeak. And English woman once told me that is a classic hangover dish, but it makes a pretty good dinner too.
Note: The Local is also featured in our new winter map as a place offering comfort food and cozy fireside dining! Launch winter map
Point Break, the original with Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey. Surfer gang robbing banks with president mask’s on, try to look me in the eye and tell me you don’t like that kind of action?
I enjoy being outside. I ride my bike, not so much for competition anymore but for fresh air. Put me on a mountain either hiking, snowshoeing, or snowboarding and I’m good.
Fun fact about yourself?
I threw Javelin for the University of Miami and am 3rd overall in the school record book. Ed Reed (future NFL hall of famer) is first.
Your insider tip to Saratoga?
Come for the horses, stay for the doughboys
How long have you been with Roohan Realty?
Most memorable moment at Roohan Realty?
That love song sing-along that Barry [Potoker, Marketing Director for Roohan Realty] made us do for Valentine’s day. My ears are still mad at me for that.
Note: Wise is referencing a video of the Roohan agents and staff singing L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole, which has not been made public. The photo below was taken during filming (February 2015).
Favorite thing about fall in Saratoga?
The warm days, cool nights and obviously the change of color. I love being able to walk downtown and sit outside with friends and watch football and playoff baseball.
Most interesting/surprising job you’ve had (besides real estate)?
I worked summer’s in Bolton Landing as a waiter. One year we lost our pizza chef so I stepped in and started cooking pizza’s–that was a learning experience–pumping out 100’s of pizza’s a night in front of a 500 degree oven in July.
What is your dream house must-have?
It has to have a see through wood burning fireplace.
Note: Caruso Home Builders’ 2016 Saratoga Showcase of Homes entry in nearby Rexford, NY, features a see through fireplace connecting the two story great room to a children’s playroom on the other side (photo 1 | photo 2). A second unique see through feature is incorporated in the Master Suite. The house claimed five awards in the Executive category: Realtors Choice, Best Exterior Design, Best Interior Floor Plan, Best Workmanship (Runner Up) and Best Master Bath (Runner Up).
