Megan Alexander’s Saratoga Bucket List
Restaurants, shops and activities in Saratoga’s award-winning downtown
Saratoga Springs is bursting with incredible restaurants, shops, and activities, all offering unique products that, together, make up the ultimate Saratoga experience. Here’s a list of what I consider the highlights of Saratoga Springs that I would recommend as a “bucket list” for all Saratoga visitors to try.
Summer: chilled peach soup
Winter: fried green tomatoes
This restaurant is so fresh, healthy, and flavorful! It’s my favorite.
Must try: Pommes Frites
Are these the best you have ever tasted?
Must try: Marinated raspberries in Champagne dessert
The food here is amazing but, if nothing else, you must indulge in this decadent dessert!
Must try: Ghost Burgers and a handcrafted cocktail Such fun!
Must try: Zeppoles (or “Zepps” for short) Cinnamon Dusted Ricotta Doughnuts, Vanilla Custard & Salted Caramel Sauce. You will thank me!
An obvious one-must try: Ice Cream
It’s summer in the Saratoga Ben & Jerry’s, even in the winter!
Another obvious one-must try: Candy and fudge. What is not to like?
Must try: Warm nut medley and a glass of wine on the outside patio on a summer evening watching the downtown bustle – a must do!
Must try: Summer cocktail special made with fresh local blueberries, and all that jazz. This bartender has talent!
Must try: Cake
I could find a reason to celebrate every day for a slice of Putnam cake!
Whimsical home goods. You will want everything in this wonderland of a store!
Classy fashion. The floor girls always look so good!
Matcha at the tea bar. The beeswax candles in adorable shapes made my holidays this year!
Aged balsamic. This makes a salad taste like a treat!
Classic Saratoga attire for track or polo!
Saratoga loves dogs!
Movie and popcorn – classic. I love this place!
Smell the roses!
Tailgate, watch the sun set, replace the divots, and learn what a chukker is!
In the mood for the New York City Ballet, The Philadelphia Orchestra, a Rock concert, all outside? Check.
Fun in the sun, Saratoga style!
It’s all about the horse, of course!
There are so many fabulous places in Saratoga. This list is a sample of my ultimate Saratoga experience. What items would be on your bucket list? Email me your recommendations (firstname.lastname@example.org). I cannot wait to try them! See you in Saratoga!
