Q & A with Listing Agent Valerie Thompson
What are the home’s most valuable features for prospective buyers?
This custom Arts and Crafts home was designed by the current owner with inspiration from Sarah Susanka’s “The Not So Big House” book series. The open floor plan is very well thought out with no wasted space and loads of natural light. The essence of outdoors is welcomed from every room in this house.
How would you describe the home’s style/floor plan?
The home is a true Arts and Crafts gem. It features four bedrooms (all upstairs) three and one half baths, and a gorgeous cherry kitchen that opens to a dining area with wet bar and steps down to a large living room with gorgeous moldings, built-in cabinetry and a 42″ Majestic Super Hearth wood-burning fireplace. The cedar shake and stone exterior of the home blends seamlessly into its nest of surrounding woods, enhanced by a mahogany screened porch leading to a beautiful blue stone patio.
Are there any unusual amenities?
There are several things that I think make this home very special. The abundance of Pella windows allows you to truly appreciate your surroundings. The first floor den is a very flexible space. It would be great for an office or music room as well. You won’t want to miss the “secret” door in the main entry which leads to the walk out finished lower level. There you will find a large family room, full bath, storage closet and cedar closet. The over-sized three car garage also has pull down stairs to additional storage.
What’s your favorite thing about the property?
My favorite thing about 19 Copperfield Road is its location. It is only 3 miles from Broadway in downtown Saratoga Springs, yet when you pull up the driveway off the cul-de-sac you truly feel like you could not be farther from the hustle and bustle. The home sits in a very peaceful and relaxing nest of greenery.
