This year’s Festival of Trees holiday event kicks off Saturday, December 3rd and will continue through Sunday, December 7th at the Saratoga Springs City Center. Join friends and family in celebrating the season of giving – funds raised from the event go towards Catholic Charities’ many local programs to serve and empower those in need in our communities.
Annual Festival of Trees – 522 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866
Our tree’s theme this year: Upcycling!
Karan Hankinson, Darlene Chorman, and Earline Johnson came up with this year’s idea to re-purpose used household items into beautifully unique ornaments for our tree. They collected burned out tree lights, light bulbs, old cookie cutters, corks, and other odds and ends which they’ve transformed into stunning decorations. The goal is to take items that once served a purpose in the past and find a new purpose for them in our tree and in giving back.
Special thanks to Saranya Thomas (married to agent Jason Thomas), who has been working hard to help out:
“Saranya has been been working for a days using parts, direction and inspiration from Darlene Chorman and Karan Hankinson…she pulls apart and remakes or creates new decorations. Last night she picked up paints and glitter glue for painting vintage cookie cutters as part of an ornament.”
We hope you can make it to the event and see the Roohan Realty tree for upcycling inspiration of your own!
Annual Festival of trees, showcased in the Saratoga Springs City Center. This year’s festival will again include numerous children’s activities, a Breakfast with Santa, as well as our beautiful designer-decorated Christmas trees, wreaths and centerpieces.
The Festival of Trees is the agency’s primary fundraiser. The much needed dollars raised enrich the quality human services provided now and throughout the year. Some of the services provided include counseling, domestic violence services, Donovan House, Mary’s Haven, and the area’s first community home for the dying, the Saratoga Mentoring Program, and Emergency Services. It’s only through your continued support and concern that all this is possible. Funding for these munch needed services is decreasing steadily though the needs continue to grow.
Please consider donating to this fabulous event. All donations will be acknowledged in the Festival’s program. Donations associated with a specific children’s activity booth or a decorated tree will also be indicated in that display.
Thank you in advance for your gracious assistance. If you would like to receive an invitation to our Preview Reception, please contact us at (518) 587-5000.
