I had just lost my husband of 50+ years and my whole life stopped. In my heart, I knew I could not continue to live in my house, but it was easier to bury my head in the sand and ignore the painful reality of it. I am disabled, in a wheelchair, no children and very few relatives in the area. I felt helpless and alone. After some weeks of friends trying to get my body and mind in motion again, Phil DiSorbo from Life Transitions highly recommended Gary Squires from Roohan Realty and I reluctantly agreed to a meeting…. it changed my life. There was an immediate bond and my fears slowly began to dissolve. With kindness and sensitivity, Gary walked me through every stage of the selling process as I was a complete novice and still grieving as well. There were many snags and challenges along the way. Our house sale closed today and I wanted to take the time to share my experience with Roohan Realty and your agent Gary Squires. We chose Gary because of his good reputation in the community and feel he truly ‘brought about the sale.’ Before listing, we met with Gary and evaluated the home. He suggested some repairs and cleanup to get the home show ready, and went the extra mile to help us, including getting local estimates on repairs. We discussed listing price and agreed to price it realistically. The Open House was 3 days after listing. The listing photos were excellent, the house showed very well and we had multiple offers. We went over the offers and chose the one most likely to go to closing. From contract to closing took longer than expected, but we were kept informed of the progress. Gary showed up to meet inspectors and appraiser and had all the pertinent information about the home on hand to move things along. We know that Roohan Realty is a big company that sells many homes, most of which are more expensive than our modest home, but we could not have been treated better or with more genuine concern and professionalism from start to finish. Thanks to you and your team for selling our home. -Kim Pallmer (July 2018)
