Week of January 24, 1969
John T. Roohan, Chair of the Saratoga Springs Youth Commission, announces the opening of the new Skidmore Ski Slope which will be opened to the public. It is a community effort in partnership with Skidmore College. Read the story
Loren Brown of Corinth is sworn in as District Attorney, replacing James A. O’Connor who is now a Family Court Judge:
Patrick J. Simone receives the first state ambulance service license in Saratoga County:
St. Peter’s Academy will increase tuition by $20 for September 1969, from $80 to $100 per family.
St. Clements School announces tuition will not increase. Currently $5 per month for the first child, and $3 for additional children in the family (except Kindergarten, which costs $5/month). No kids? $5 can also get you an extravagant dinner for two! Chateau de Louis (Glens Falls, NY) is advertising live lobster and prime rib specials in The Saratogian:
The Community Theater is playing a “fast, fresh and exciting” thriller for mature audiences only: Bullitt (1968) starring Steve McQueen, Jacqueline Bisset, and Robert Vaughn:
The House of the Week is this “All-American Colonial” by architect, Samuel Paul, who wanted to create a home where wild teens and parents seeking some peace and quiet could coexist under the same roof:
